Deputies nab second suspect in witness intimidation Deputies nab second suspect in witness intimidation Gerald Luke Advocate staff report July 08, 2013 Comments East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a 17-year-old Block Boyz gang associate Sunday who is accused of intimidating a witness in the June 6 homicide in the Gardere area. An anonymous Crime Stoppers tip led detectives to Gerald Luke, of 8032 Skysail Ave., less than 24 hours after the Sheriff’s Office asked for help seeking the teenager, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman. Deputies found Luke at 8034 Skysail Ave., Hicks said. He was booked into Parish Prison on counts of intimidation of a witness, burglary and aggravated assault. The arrest comes one day after deputies booked 18-year-old James Miskell into Parish Prison on the same counts and three days after Baton Rouge Area Violence Elimination Project leaders announced the “crackdown” arrest of nine suspected Block Boyz gang associates, including 18-year-old Trevor Georgetown, who is accused of first-degree murder in the June 6 fatal shooting of 18-year-old Franklin “Franco” Lara-Solis, of Honduras. Both Miskell and Luke are known associates of the Block Boyz gang, Hicks said.
