St. Martinville man booked in death of his stepfather St. Martinville man booked in death of his stepfather Acadiana bureau July 12, 2013 Comments LAFAYETTE — A St. Martinville man was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on Wednesday night on one count of manslaughter in the death of his stepfather, authorities said in a news release. St. Martin Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested Clyde Akers IV, 30, after they found Sam Guidry, 56, “lying in a pool of blood” inside a residence, Public Information Officer Maj. Ginny Higgins said. Higgins said Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received a 911 call about a physical altercation Wednesday evening. Guidry was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Akers remains in jail awaiting a bond hearing.
