Jun 19, 2013 15:04 Police and Fire Briefs for June 19, 2013 Police and Fire Briefs for June 19, 2013 Advocate staff report June 19, 2013 Comments Police say man, 88, victim of extortion Baton Rouge police arrested a 61-year-old man Monday accused of extorting about $60,000 over several years from an 88-year-old man after telling the man the Mexican Mafia would blow up his house and kill him and his family if he did not pay. Police booked Andrew Clay Davis, 1558 N. 49th St., Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on counts of extortion and felony theft, prison records show. The victim told police Davis called him Sunday and told him he needed $100 to bond four men out of jail. Later Sunday night, the victim said Davis called him back and said he needed an additional $150, police said. Police traced the phone number to Davis’ address. Davis told police he was only doing what the Mexican Mafia told him to do and he had been threatened by them as well. Woman accused of pointing gun at car East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s deputies searched Tuesday for a woman who allegedly pointed a handgun at several people in a car Tuesday and threatened to kill them. Crystal Renee Price, 25, 2451 Desoto Drive, stepped out of her car at 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Silverleaf Avenue and Greenwell Street, walked up to the car behind her, pulled out a handgun and said, “I’ll kill all of y’all!,” sheriff’s spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said. A few minutes later, Price fired one shot in the air as the victims drove by her while she was stopped in the 5600 block of Hartford Drive. Price is wanted for aggravated assault with a firearm and illegal use of a weapon, Hicks said. Anyone with information can call the Sheriff’s Office at (225) 389-5000. Authorities book 2 on suspicion of DWI Authorities arrested at least two people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, booking records show. Those booked and the counts against them: Ashley Dixon, 20, 1463 Clinton Drive, Denham Springs, first-offense DWI, license plate required, driving over the median and improper lane usage.
