Zachary man, 38, arrested in girl’s rape

A 38-year-old man accused of raping a girl about 20 separate times during a seven-year span was arrested Thursday.

Terence Roshell Dawson, 6648 Lower Zachary Road, Zachary, was booked by the Baker Police Department with aggravated rape, forcible rape and being a fugitive from the Baton Rouge Police Department, East Baton Rouge Parish Prison records show.

According to an affidavit warrant, Dawson started raping the girl when she was 6 in 2004 and continued until she was 13.

The victim, now in high school, told police there were approximately 20 separate incidents of rape.

BR man arrested in shooting over rent

Baton Rouge Police arrested an 18-year-old man accused of shooting a woman in the neck because she threatened to evict him for not paying his rent.

Trevair Patterson, 3054 Convention St., Baton Rouge, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Thursday on counts of attempted second-degree murder, armed robbery, illegal use of a weapon and criminal damage to property, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Patterson approached the victim’s vehicle near the BREC park on Kernan Street on June 4 and allegedly threatened the woman’s life because she was going to evict him, the affidavit says.

Patterson then allegedly shot the woman and fled the scene, the affidavit says.

One arrested on suspicion of DWI

One person suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish was arrested and booked into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday, booking records show.

Records show that Trevor Deas, 26, 544 Lake Villa Drive, Baton Rouge, was booked with first-offense DWI, failure to signal and no headlight.
