Livingston man booked in Sunday death of BR man Livingston man booked in Sunday death of BR man Florida Parishes bureau June 03, 2013 Comments DENHAM SPRINGS — Livingston Parish sheriff’s deputies booked a man on a count of second-degree murder following a fatal shooting Sunday night near Denham Springs. Deputies responded to a shooting at 36382 Caraway Road at 8:30 p.m. and found 63-year-old William Mixon, of East Graham Street, Baton Rouge, unresponsive and bleeding from what is believed to be a gunshot wound, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lori Steele said in a news release Monday. Mixon was pronounced dead at the scene. Wayne Matherne, 65, of Caraway Road, remains in the Livingston Parish Detention Center on a count of second-degree murder, Steele said. Bail has been set at $151,100. Deputies have determined the two men were arguing before the shooting, Steele said. More charges in the ongoing investigation are possible, Steele said.
