East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested four people Saturday night accused in a carjacking at an Essen Park Avenue hotel.
Makeisha Hartford, 33, 1111 Rodin Drive, Baton Rouge, and Allexis Armstead, 19, 7170 Mitchell Lane, Morganza, were booked into Parish Prison on one count each of carjacking and theft.
Eric Hartford, 17, and Saveion Long, 18, both of 1111 Rodin Drive, Baton Rouge, were booked on a count each of carjacking.
Makeisha Hartford is accused of knocking the victim and another person to the ground before taking the victim’s rented Chrysler 200 car from the parking lot of Springhill Suites, 7979 Essen Park, according to affidavits of probable cause.
Makeisha Hartford drove off in the Chrysler, the affidavits say, while Armstead and Hartford’s children, Long and Eric Hartford, left the scene in Armstead’s vehicle.

Earlier in the evening, according to the affidavits, Makeisha Hartford reached through the window of the Chrysler while the victim was sitting in it in the motel parking lot and snatched the victim’s car keys and a cellphone, the affidavits say.
