Baton Rouge police Sunday arrested a woman accused of beating a child multiple times with a stick on the side of a road.
Alexis Carroll, 28, 787 N. 30th St., was booked with cruelty to a juvenile, East Baton Rouge Parish Prison records show.
Carroll admitted to beating the child in the 6000 block of Scenic Highway because the child defecated in a car, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
The stick is described as an inch in diameter and 18 to 24 inches long, the affidavit says.
3 teens accused
in robbery at LSU
LSU police Saturday night arrested three teenage boys accused of robbing a man on campus at gunpoint.
The teenagers, one 16-year-old and two 15-year-olds, were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Detention Center one count each of armed robbery, an LSU news release says.
The teens’ names were not released because they are juveniles, the release says.
The victim told LSU police he was robbed of his cellphone and other personal property near Dalrymple Drive and Infirmary Lane, the release says.
LSU police learned the three teens were in the area, and officers arrested them as they tried to run away, the release says.
The teens had the victim’s property, the release says.
BR man arrested
in thefts at LSU
LSU police Monday arrested a 46-year-old man accused of stealing electronics from two buildings on LSU’s campus.
Ronald Collins, 2600 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count each of felony theft and burglary of a religious building, an LSU news release says.
Collins is accused of stealing a laptop computer from the LSU International Cultural Center, on Dalrymple Drive at West Lakeshore Drive, and a media player from Christ the King Church, on Highland Road at Dalrymple, the release says.
The thefts happened sometime between April 4 and April 8, the release says.
LSU police released images April 17 of a man wanted in connection with the thefts, the release says.
An LSU student notified LSU police of Collins’ whereabouts Monday, the release says.

on DWI in EBR
Authorities arrested at least three people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday, booking records show. Those booked and the counts against them:
- Heidi Anderson, 20, 14930 Libra Ave., Greenwell Springs, first-offense DWI.
- Cody Flood, 25, 2654 Sheldon Drive, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, possession or distribution of schedule IV drugs, drinking in a motor vehicle, driver’s license suspended or revoked, reckless operation of a vehicle and possession of marijuana.
- Noah Wooders, 40, 2275 Valley St., Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, drinking in a motor vehicle, child restraint required, driver’s license required or expired and reckless operation of a vehicle.
