WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu is having dinner Wednesday evening with President Barack Obama and 11 of her fellow Democratic senators.
The policy dinner at the Jefferson Hotel in Washington, D.C., is the continuation of the president’s outreach dinners with lawmakers, including Republicans, in recent weeks.
Topics of discussion are expected to include gun control, immigration reform and budgetary matters with Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman Patty Murray, D-Wash., and others.
Landrieu, D-La., has not taken public stances on pending gun control or immigration proposals.
Landrieu was one of the deciding votes in favor of the Senate budget plan by Murray, but Landrieu has said some tweaks are needed before she could back Obama’s budget proposal.
