Prairieville man sought in Sunday shooting Prairieville man sought in Sunday shooting Joshua Stephens River Parishes bureau April 24, 2013 Comments PRAIRIEVILLE — Authorities in Ascension Parish are searching for a 19-year-old man wanted in connection with a shooting late Sunday night at a club in Prairieville. Joshua Stephens, 19, 39150 La. 929, Prairieville, became involved in an argument with another man in a nightclub parking lot that escalated and led to Stevens shooting a female victim in the foot, Sheriff Jeff Wiley said in a news release. Wiley said deputies were dispatched to Club Real, 38506 Scott’s Lane, Prairieville, at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday in response to the disturbance and found a woman with a single gunshot wound in her foot. Witnesses told police Stephens and another man were arguing in the club’s parking lot and Stephens pulled a gun and began shooting. The man informed deputies he had trouble with Stephens in the past, Wiley said. The victim was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, where she was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries. The other man suffered minor injuries that didn’t require hospital care. Stephens is wanted for two counts of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal use of weapons, firearm on premises of an alcohol beverage outlet and disturbing the peace.
