Interviews to gauge W. Feliciana interest in oil, gas training Interviews to gauge W. Feliciana interest in oil, gas training Baker-Zachary bureau April 08, 2013 Comments ST. FRANCISVILLE — A Mandeville firm on Wednesday will interview West Feliciana Parish residents interested in receiving training for work in the oil and gas industry. Dennis Manshack, director of the parish Economic Development Board, said the interviews, set from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Protection District 1 headquarters, 9892 West Feliciana Parkway, will be used to gauge the interest of parish residents interested in receiving entry-level training. The board is interested in having the firm, PEC, offer its Oil Patch Preparation System program to West Feliciana Parish. The 10-day training sessions offer the opportunity “to get a foot in the door” through certification training for oil and gas industry work, Manshack said. The cost of the training is $500 per student and placement assistance will be offered to those who complete the course, Manshack said. All applicants must be able to pass a drug screening test before they are selected for training, he said. For more information on the training, call (800) 892-8179.
