Police seek robbers
of 2 doughnut shops

For the second time in three days, a Baton Rouge doughnut shop has been robbed at gunpoint.

In both incidents, the robber was described as a black man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, according to two Baton Rouge police news releases.

Mike’s Donut Shop, 12333 Jefferson Highway, was robbed Monday at 5:35 a.m., one release says.

The robber walked in the shop, took out a handgun, demanded money from an employee and ran away, the release says.

On Saturday, a man robbed the Mary Lee Donuts store on Florida Boulevard at gunpoint at 5:25 a.m., police have said.

The Mary Lee Donuts robber was last seen running away from the store eastbound along the north service road toward Sharp Lane, police have said.

Police have not said if the robberies are related or were committed by the same man.

Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to call police at (225) 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
