Baker girl arrested in school threat

Police on Thursday arrested a 16-year-old Baker High School student accused of threatening to bring a gun to school to kill several students, Police Chief Mike Knaps said.

A school employee called police at 7:25 a.m. to report the incident, Knaps said.

The girl told police she had felt threatened by students and had told them she would bring a gun to school and shoot them, the police chief said. A student reported the threat to an assistant principal, he added.

The girl was booked at the East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Detention Center on counts of disturbing the peace and terrorizing, Knaps said.

I really hope the school investigates the bullies, as well.
