DEQ arrests EBR man in gas dumping at casino DEQ arrests EBR man in gas dumping at casino Advocate staff report March 07, 2013 Comments An East Baton Rouge Parish man was arrested Wednesday by the state Department of Environmental Quality Criminal Investigation Division in allegedly dumping gasoline and diesel illegally. Leon Wallace, 56, of Zachary, was arrested in allegedly dumping an unknown amount of diesel and gasoline at the Super Lucky Louie Casino in Port Allen, according to a DEQ news release. The Criminal Investigation Division made the arrest based on information it received that Wallace drove a tanker truck for ACM Transportation of Denham Springs, and while loading gasoline and diesel on the night of Jan. 25, he allegedly mixed several hundred gallons of diesel with several thousand gallons of gasoline in his tanker truck by mistake, DEQ said. Wallace then drove to the Super Lucky Louie Casino and allegedly released an unknown amount of the gasoline and diesel mixture at the back of the building, according to DEQ. If convicted of knowingly discharging a substance that endangers or could endanger human life or health, Wallace faces possible imprisonment for not more than 10 years with or without hard labor, or a fine of not more than $100,000, or both, according to DEQ.
