Man, 19, booked
in theft, sex act

A man accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl and stealing a woman’s cellphone on Valentine’s Day was arrested.

Chancellar Williams, 19, 636 N. 39th St., Baton Rouge, was booked Tuesday with indecent behavior with a juvenile and simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, East Baton Rouge Parish Prison records show.

According to a warrant, Williams is accused of having sex with the girl in a woman’s apartment in the 1900 block of Blount Road when the woman was not at home.

The woman told authorities that she never gave Williams permission to be in her apartment, the warrant says.

The woman also said he returned her cellphone, which had been on a dresser in her bedroom, according to the warrant.

Authorities arrest three DWI suspects

Authorities arrested at least three people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:

  • Cordelia Harper, 25, 812 Texas St., Mobile, Ala., first-offense DWI and improper lane usage.
  • Jerome Lockhart, 56, 1527 N. Marque Ann Drive, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, reckless operation of a vehicle, driver’s license suspended/revoked and improper lane usage.
  • Terry Slade, 49, 7324 Alberta Drive, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, possession of alcohol in vehicle and driver’s license required.
