- BATON ROUGE PRESS CLUB: Noon, De La Ronde Hall, 320 Third St. in downtown Baton Rouge. Barry Erwin, president of Council for a Better Louisiana, will discuss tax reform, a topic for the Legislature for the first time in a number of years. Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.
- CATHOLIC COMMUNITY RADIO’S LEADERSHIP LUNCHEON: Noon to 1 p.m., Drusilla Seafood Restaurant, 3482 Drusilla Lane. The luncheon will feature State Police Superintendent Col. Mike Edmonson as the speaker. It is open to the everyone regardless of religious or political affiliation. Cost for the lunch is $14, which includes tax and gratuity. The event is not a fundraiser. - DOWNTOWN GREENWAY OPENING SESSION: 9 a.m., Design Resource Center, 247 Florida St. Public meetings will take place Tuesday through Thursday to gain community input on the design for the Downtown Greenway, a pedestrian and bicycle corridor that links neighborhoods, parks, businesses and cultural attractions to downtown.
