GONZALES — A portion of Babin Road, located north of Gonzales, will close on Thursday for about one week for bridge repair.
Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez and Public Works Director Ronnie Fairchild announced the closure in a news release Tuesday afternoon.
The road will be barricaded about 7 a.m. Thursday, Martinez said.
Fairchild said the bridge, which crosses Grand Goudine Bayou, is about a half-mile from Babin Road’s intersection with La. 74.
While the road will be closed to through traffic, the news release said Babin Road will remain accessible by La. 74, J.D. Broussard Road, K.C. Road and Airline Highway.
