State Sen. Sharon Weston Broome will hold a series of community meetings in Senate District 15 before the 2013 regular legislative session begins in April. SCHOOL SAFETY/SECURITY COMMUNITY FORUM: 6 p.m., Baton Rouge Magnet High School, 2825 Government St. Superintendent Bernard Taylor will host a series of community forums to get public input on school safety and security in the East Baton Rouge Parish school system. Participants also will discuss the proposed 2013-14 school calendar and next year’s calendar. COMMUNITY EVENTS BATON ROUGE PRESS CLUB: Noon, De La Ronde Hall, 320 Third St. State Rep. Jeff Thompson, R-Bossier City, will speak on his new campaign to defend gun ownership rights. The campaign is called “Defend Louisiana.” Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., is $12 for members and $15 for nonmembers. EDUCATION FORUM: 5:30 p.m., McKinley Alumni Center, 1520 Thomas H.
