A 68-year-old Baton Rouge man was convicted Thursday in the stabbing of a man in the VIP lounge of The Belle of Baton Rouge Casino in February 2012.
An East Baton Rouge Parish jury unanimously found Roy Holmes, 2317 America St., guilty of attempted second-degree murder.
State District Judge Chip Moore set an April 24 sentencing date.
Prosecutor Larry McAlpine said Holmes faces 10 to 50 years in prison.
The stabbing occurred about 10:20 p.m. on Feb. 13, 2012, after Holmes and the other man had a verbal and physical fight, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
