BR man, 36, arrested in assault of boy, 11
Baton Rouge police arrested a 36-year-old man Tuesday in the December kidnapping and sexual assault of an 11-year-old boy, according Parish Prison records.
Police booked Eric Lands, 2231 Harleson St., Baton Rouge, with sexual battery and simple kidnapping, according to Parish Prison records.
According to a warrant for his arrest, Lands saw the child walking Dec. 1 on North Foster Drive near Madison Street. Lands stopped his car near the child and asked the boy if he knew him, the warrant says. The boy told Lands he did not know him, the warrant said.
Lands got out and forced the boy into his car, the warrant says. Lands drove to a nearby car wash where he began touching the boy through the child’s pants in the area of his genitals, according to the warrant. The boy told Lands to stop, the warrant says, but when Lands continued touching him, the child told police he took out a pick comb and began stabbing Lands.
Lands drove the boy back to the area where he had picked up the child and let him go, according to the warrant.
Lands was arrested after the child identified Lands in a six-person photographic lineup, the warrant says.
