Work-release escapee sought

East Feliciana Parish sheriff’s deputies are looking for a state prisoner who left his work-release job at a sawmill near Amite on Monday, Chief Deputy Cliff Hurst said.

Glen R. Carroll III, 21, formerly of Broussard, was serving a two-year sentence for aggravated second-degree battery and was eligible for a work-release program when he arrived at the East Feliciana Parish Jail several weeks ago, Hurst said.

Hurst said deputies believe someone picked up Carroll from his job at the Paul Davis Lumber Co. on La. 16 about noon.

Before his escape, Carroll was eligible for release from state custody in January 2014, Hurst said.

Hurst said Carroll is a white man with brown hair and brown eyes.

He is about 5 foot, 10 inches tall and weighs about 155 pounds.

Anyone having information on Carroll’s location is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (225) 683-5459.

Look at the guy's photo with a cross around his neck! He does not represent the Christian population doing the right thing now does he. Can't we get him to work locally for the town of Clinton instead of sending him to Amite to work? At least put him washing pots & pans & picking up litter in E. Feliciana somewhere to help out.

Darwin will have to hurry. This guy sounds like a shoo-in for Louisiana political office.

Here we have a genius, ladies and gents. 10 months away from being released from an already light sentence and what does he do? Escapes. With any luck Darwin will take it from here.
