Police probe shooting on Oriole Street

Baton Rouge police are investigating a shooting Monday afternoon in the 1400 block of Oriole Street.

Police found a man shot in the leg, Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said. Police are unsure of motives or suspects at this time, he said.

The man’s injuries do not appear to be life threatening, Stubbs said. The victim was taken to a hospital, he said.

Four arrested on suspicion of DWI

Authorities arrested at least four people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish — including a man on a fourth-offense DWI — and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 2:30 p.m. Monday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:

  • Corey Douglas, 30, 607 W. Russell, West Helena, Ark., fourth-offense DWI, vehicle approaching or entering intersection, operating a vehicle while under suspension for a prior offense, unlawful refusal to submit to a chemical test, failure to maintain control, and driver’s license suspended or revoked.
  • Roger Guerin, 38, 8897 Ferry Road, New Roads, first-offense DWI and failure to maintain control.
  • Tony Hudson, 32, 11070 Mead Road, Baton Rouge, third-offense DWI, possession of alcohol in a vehicle, driver’s license suspended or revoked, and improper lane usage.
  • Brent Scott, 55, 6334 Ritterman Ave., Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, drinking in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, reckless operation of a vehicle and simple obstruction of a highway.
