Ravens defeat 49ers 34-31 to win Super Bowl XLVII
Super Bowl XLVII had some of everything - a power outage, a delay and plenty of on-field thrills, not to mention the first-ever match involving two teams coached by brothers.
In the end, the Baltimore Ravens held off the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 in the Mercedes- Benz Superdome on Sunday.
The 49ers trailed 28-6 in the third quarter when there was a power outage that affected half of the Superdome and delayed the game for 30 minutes.
Then San Francisco came back to outscore Baltimore 23-6 to make the score 34-29.
San Francisco had a chacne to win the game, but 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick misfired on a pass in the corner of the end zone to receiver Michael Crabtree on a fourth and goal play from the 5 with 1:46 remaining.
Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco completed 22 of 33 passes for 287 yards and three touchdowns.
