The 2013 Baton Rouge Blues Festival is set for downtown Baton Rouge on April 13 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to an announcement on the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation’s website.
Headliners scheduled for the festival in the Galvez Plaza and Town Square include Bobby Rush, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Henry Gray & the Cats, Lavelle White, CC Adcock & The Lafayette Marquis, Bryan Lee, Rudy Richard, Blind Boy Paxton, Baby Bee and Mr. Hinson & the Blisters.
The free to the public, family-friendly festival will also include BackStage at the Blues Fest. Located in the Old State Capitol, BackStage will have interviews and informal performances in Senate chambers.
The Baton Rouge Blues Festival is sponsored by the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation.
The festival’s goal is to encourage promotion, preservation and advancement of the “Swamp Blues” music native to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
