Man, 25, arrested in shooting at home
Sheriff’s deputies Thursday arrested a 25-year-old Baton Rouge man accused of shooting another man in the leg at 3:42 a.m. on Jan. 5.
Deputies booked Cody Mack, 4725 Cadillac St., into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count each of attempted second-degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm and illegal use of a weapon, prison records show.
The victim said he went to his cousin’s house at 7417 Richey Drive and Mack answered, told the victim he was not supposed to be there and shot him once in the leg, an affidavit of probable cause says.
The injury was not life-threatening, the affidavit says.
Authorities book 2 on suspicion of DWI
Authorities arrested at least two people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday, booking records show.
Those booked and the counts against them:
- Daryn Bovard, 35, 5737 Capital Heights, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, failure to signal/improper turn, drinking in public and seat belt violation.
- Daniel Branch, 35, 12074 Newcastle Ave., Apt. 1504, Baton Rouge, second-offense DWI, reckless operation and improper lane usage.
