Closings announced for holiday Monday

Baton Rouge city-parish, state and federal courts and offices are closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Post offices are closed; only Express mail will be delivered.

Trash and recyclables will be collected Monday. The North landfill will be open.

Capital Area Transit System buses will run on a Saturday schedule.

East Baton Rouge Parish public libraries are closed.

The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board office and public schools are closed. Schools of the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge are also closed.

LSU, Southern University and Baton Rouge Community College are closed.
