Government offices closing for King Day

City-parish, state and federal courts and offices will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Post offices will be closed. Only Express mail will be delivered.

Trash and recyclables will be collected Monday. The North landfill will be open Monday.

Capital Area Transit System buses will run Monday on a Saturday schedule.

East Baton Rouge Parish public libraries will be closed Monday.

The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board office and public schools will be closed. Schools of the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge also will be closed.

LSU, Southern University and Baton Rouge Community College will be closed Monday.

I am really Shocked Louisiana is doing the right thing! It's not about Obama although this is the day a Hated by louisiana president will be sworn in! Good for you Louisiana

He became active in the movement for civil rights and racial equality. Mr. King help made it possible for every American to have the right to vote. Everyone can agree on that. If not look at who won the last two elections. And, we could have a woman for the 2016 Presidential election who I think will be Hillary Clinton.
