Woman killed in La Margie Avenue shooting

A 26-year-old woman died Thursday night after she was shot inside her home on La Margie Avenue, a police spokesman said.

Shaquanan Jones, 26, 12622 La Margie Ave., died from a single gunshot wound to her upper torso area around 9:30 p.m. at 12622 La Margie, Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said in a news release.

An unknown shooter fired multiple shots through a window into the home at Jones, McKneely said. She died at the scene.

Two other unidentified people were in the room at the time of the shooting, but they were not hit, McKneely said.

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time, McKneely said.
