Alabama repeats, beats Notre Dame 42-14 in BCS championship game

Undefeated Notre Dame was no match for defending national champion Alabama on Monday.

The Tide outscored the Irish 28-0 in the first half and cruised to a 42-14 victory to win the BCS national championship game.

Alabama has won national championships in three of the past four years.

Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron completed 20 of 28 passes for 264 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions. Running back Eddie Lacy, the offensive MVP, rushed for 140 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries. Running back T.J. Yeldon rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on 21 carries.
