Eastbound I-10 to be closed 30 minutes Eastbound I-10 to be closed 30 minutes Capitol news bureau Dec. 12, 2012 Comments Eastbound Interstate 10 at the I-10/12 split will be closed for about 30 minutes beginning at 11 p.m. Wednesday, officials said Tuesday. The closure is needed for the installation of a sign truss, according to the state Department of Transportation and Development. The work stems from the widening of I-10 between the split and Siegen Lane and from Siegen Lane to Highland Road. The split-to-Siegen Lane work is supposed to be finished by early 2013. The Siegen Lane-Highland Road widening is set to be done by the spring. In addition, Bluebonnet Boulevard will be closed on the I-10 overpass bridge, also at 11 p.m. Wednesday until 5 a.m. Thursday, and Siegen Lane will be closed on the I-10 overpass bridge at 11 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday. In both cases workers will use high-pressure water to remove sections of concrete before additional repairs.
