Members of the Livingston Parish Fire Protection District plan to help the community with their holiday program called “The Gift of Christmas.”
The Fire Department’s stations participating in the program are: Station 2, 35455 Walker North Road, Walker; Station 3, 34893 U.S. 1019, Watson; Station 7, 25110 Walker South Road, Walker; and Station 9, 9100 Hillon Hood Road, Denham Springs.
Food barrels will be provided at each location from 8 a.m .to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for residents to drop off donations.

The Springfield Christmas parade will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at Amvets at the intersection of La. 42 and 43 and proceed east on Main Street, ending at the Springfield Fire Department. The parade will feature floats, marching bands, trucks and Santa Claus.
Drinking water meeting
The Livingston Parish Drinking Water Protection Program will hold its first committee meeting in the City Hall conference room, 941 Government Drive, Denham Springs, at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
WOW fireworks volunteers

The Livingston Parish Children’s Choirs 22nd annual Christmas Concert will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Live Oak United Methodist Church, 34890 La. 16.
The concert will feature three choirs: the apprentice choir, the chorus and the chorale. The choirs will perform traditional Christmas songs as well as works by master composers, organizers said.
Tickets are $5 and available from 4:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at New Covenant Baptist Church, 215 Florida Ave. S.E., Denham Springs; or at the door on concert night. A free nursery will be provided during the concert for children under 4 years of age. Visit http://www.lpccsing.org for information.
Senior Christmas dance
The Livingston Council on Aging will host a Christmas dance for seniors 60 years old and older from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at the Senior Center located next to City Hall in Denham Springs.
Music will be provided by Heat Wave. The cost is $6 per person or $10 per couple. Refreshments will be served along with coffee, tea and water. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed. For information, call (225) 664-9343.
Denham Springs parade
Scott Innes, well-known for voicing Warner Brother’s characters Scooby Doo, Shaggy and Scrappy Doo, will reign as the grand marshal of the Denham Springs Christmas parade, which begins at 2 p.m. Saturday.
In honor of Innes and his cartoon background, this year’s theme is “A Cartoon Christmas.” Innes will drive the Mystery Machine in the parade, organizers said.
