Eating healthy Participants can learn how to eat healthfully with instructor Natalie Savoy of the LSU AG Center at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Albany-Springfield Library, 26941 La. 43, Albany. The program will teach both youth and adults about healthful eating, food safety and how to create healthful snacks. Youth Candy Land The Denham Springs-Walker Library, 8101 U.S. 190, Denham Springs, invites young people to participate in a life-sized version of the Candy Land board game at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Participants will work their way around the game board in order to get to the castle, interacting with Candy Land characters and completing tasks for prizes. Call (225) 665-8118 for information. Depression support The National Alliance on Mental Illness will offer support group meetings for those who suffer from depression and bipolar disorder. The group provides a safe confidential place to unload feelings and help gain recovery, organizers said. Santa at Old City Hall Santa Claus will visit the Old City Hall during the Christmas Open House in the Denham Springs Antiques and Arts District from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Free photos of children with Santa will be provided courtesy of Pelican State Credit Union, or parents can take their own photos. Storytellers will tell Christmas stories, and a puppet show will be presented. Vouchers can be redeemed the day of the event at Cavalier House Books for a free age-appropriate book, which supplies last. The children’s events are sponsored by the Denham Springs Main Street Commission. Pelican State Credit Union will provide free hot chocolate under a tent outside Old City Hall. “Becoming Louisiana” The traveling exhibit “Becoming Louisiana” will open at the Walker Museum and Community Art Gallery, 29350 Walker South Road, Saturday.
