Scott Innes named grand marshal of D.S. parade

The Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce has selected Scott Innes, well-known for voicing Warner Brother’s characters Scooby Doo, Shaggy and Scrappy Doo, as grand marshal of the Denham Springs Christmas Parade. Innes’ children’s show, Hal & Al, is featured on Cox Cable Channel 4.

In honor of Innes and his cartoon background, this year’s theme is “A Cartoon Christmas.” Innes will be driving the Mystery Machine in the parade.

Sponsorships are being offered for the first time this year and will showcase local businesses.

Parade entries are encouraged to decorate their floats to reflect the theme. The entry fee is $100 for non-chamber members and $75 for chamber members. The deadline to enter is Nov. 30.

The parade will start at 2 p.m. Dec. 8. For information, call the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce at (225) 665-8155 or visit http://www.livingstonparishchamber.org for parade applications.
