A contractor installing fiber optic cable broke a water main and might have affected the quality of the water. Water intended for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice and preparing foods should be disinfected by boiling it for a minute before use, officials said. The advisory will be lifted when the state health officials determine the water is safe. through additional tests on water samples.
