GMC dealer offers vehicle for best video
LAFAYETTE — Lafayette Courtesy GMC Buick has teamed up with Lafayette Parish high schools to award one school a 2013 GMC Terrain.
The “Terrain Giveaway” gives students the opportunity to sing, dance or cheer their way into winning the vehicle by creating videos about why their school is deserving of the prize.
The public will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite video at http://www.terrain
giveaway.com.
The video with the most votes based on their school’s total population wins the prize and each student in the winning video will receive an iPod shuffle.
The winning school may use the vehicle as a prize for a school fundraiser.
Workshop scheduled on handling hazards
LAFAYETTE —LSU’s Stephenson Disaster Management Institute will offer a free workshop for small businesses and nonprofit groups on how to minimize damages and prepare for the effects of hazards on Nov. 12 in Lafayette.
The “Ready to Resume” workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Abdalla Hall in the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Research Park, 635 Cajundome Blvd.
