ST. GABRIEL — One man was killed and another moderately injured in a traffic accident early Saturday on La. 30 south of La. 3115 in Ascension Parish, State Police reported in a news release.
Trooper First Class Nick Manale said Joshua Babin, 26, of Baton Rouge, was driving south on La. 30 in his 2001 Dodge Ram truck when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with an approaching 2006 Mitsubishi Raider.
Babin was wearing his seat belt, but received fatal injuries in the wreck, the news release says.
The driver of the Raider, Brent Roussel, 45, of Lutcher, who was not wearing his seat belt, was treated at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, the news release says.
