3 arrested for drugs after traffic violation
GROSSE TETE — State troopers arrested two men and a woman Friday morning after discovering 15.4 pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 10 near the La. 77 exit, State Police Troop A spokesman Nick Manale said.
Manale said troopers pulled over a 2003 Honda Accord and a 2004 Ford pickup about 10 a.m. after the drivers allegedly committed a traffic violation while traveling east together on I-10.
Belinda Ware, 42, of Phenix City, Ala., and Anthony Kimbrough, 41, of Columbus, Ga., were booked into the Iberville Parish Jail with possession with intent to distribute cocaine after troopers searched their vehicles and discovered the drug, Manale said.
Christopher Cherry, 51, of Columbus, Ga., a passenger in Kimbrough’s truck, was arrested and booked at the same jail on drug-related counts.
