Denham Springs man arrested in porn case
DENHAM SPRINGS — Bail has been set at $10 million for a Denham Springs man booked on 100 counts of possessing pornography involving juveniles, the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office reported Friday.
Marvin Thornton, 49, 33161 Perkins Road, was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center without incident, attorney general’s spokeswoman Amanda Larkins said in a news release.
Thornton was on probation for a 2011 obscenity conviction at the time of his arrest, Larkins said. If convicted on the new counts, Thornton could face up to 20 years in prison for each count.
Thornton’s arrest came as part of a joint investigation involving the Attorney General’s High Technology Crime Unit, Louisiana Probation and Parole and the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, Larkins said.
Suspected cases of Internet crime, Larkins said, should be reported to the Attorney General’s High Technology Crime Unit at (800) 256-4506.
