The Arts for All organization of St. Francisville presents Southern art, music, writing and poetry at the 10th annual Yellow Leaf Arts Festival Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Parker Park in downtown St. Francisville.
The Acoustic Playboys, Fugitive Poets and Songbird Reunion Jam offer continuous music starting at noon Saturday, while Burke Ingraffia plays at 3 p.m. Sunday, followed by Heather, Jodi and Becca.
Danny Heitman will discuss his book, “A Summer of Birds,” at 11 a.m. Sunday, and New Orleans poet Mona Lisa Saloy will present a workshop and read from her book, “Red Beans and Ricely Yours,” at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The juried artists and craftspeople will show and sell paintings of all media, pottery, metalwork, fabric art, wood pieces, sculpture, glass art, jewelry, carvings and more. For more information, visit http://yellowleaf.uniquelyfeliciana.com.
Trains rolling
The Greater Baton Rouge Model Railroad Club has its free October Trainfest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Republic of West Florida Historical Museum, 3406 College St., Jackson. A highlight will be model trains running on steam, with hobbyists from several states participating.
Free food and refreshments will be available to visitors.
Baker pumpkin fest
The Baker Heritage Museum, 1606 Main St., has a Main Street Market from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, and children ages 3 through 10 are invited to paint pumpkins, beginning at 10 a.m.
Free pumpkins will be available, and children must be accompanied by adults. The market features farm produce, seasonal and holiday merchandise, or hand-crafted items.
Clinton Halloween
The Audubon Regional Library’s Clinton branch will have a Halloween Story Time program at 3 p.m. Monday, with stories, crafts and refreshments for children. The library also will participate in the school and Head Start trick-or-treating Wednesday morning on the courthouse square.
Jackson treats
The Jackson Tourism Enhancement Committee’s “Spooktacular” will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday along College Street between Centenary State Historic Site and Charter Street. The street will be closed for safety, and the event includes storytelling, free candy, apple bobbing and more.
Lane programs
Lane Regional Medical Center has a free prenatal class at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Staff Development Classroom. Registration is required; call (225) 654-5263.
The AARP Driver Safety Course will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Call (225) 654-5263 for more information or to register.
Book sale, health fair
Friends of the West Feliciana Parish Library will have a book sale at the St. Francisville Town Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
West Feliciana Parish Hospital has a health fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the hospital in St. Francisville, featuring health screenings, education, testing, door prizes and a health walk.
