United Way offering proposal workshops
LAFAYETTE — The United Way of Acadiana will offer free Proposal and Logic Model workshops to help organizations with the application process for its 2013 PACT United grant program.
The remaining workshops dates, times and locations are are follows from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, at Vermilion Parish Library, 405 E. St. Victor St., Abbeville and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, at United Way of Acadiana, 215 E. Pinhook Road, Lafayette.

College fair slated
at Earl K. Long gym
LAFAYETTE — Prospective college students and their parents can learn about the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and other colleges and universities in the state at Parents Night Monday in the Earl K. Long Gymnasium on ULL’s campus.
The fair from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. targets juniors and seniors from Lafayette, Iberia, St. Martin, St. Landry, Acadia and Vermilion parishes.
Information about college selection and admission processes, financial aid and scholarships, including TOPS, the Taylor Opportunity Program for Students, will be provided.
Free parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to Earl K. Long Gymnasium.

‘Monster Dash’ walk-run set for Monday
LAFAYETTE — Monster Dash, a costumed walk-run event, will be held Monday at Cochon, 921 Camellia Blvd., to benefit a local U.S. Army medic wounded in action in June.
Registration is from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and the run starts at 6:15 p.m. Registration is $10.
Proceeds will benefit U.S. Army Spc. Zack Parker, who is a triple amputee.
The event offers walkers and runners free beer and sliders after the race and a costume contest offers a $100 gift card to Cochon.
