Frost School put on lockdown during fugitive search

COLYELL — A man sought on allegations of simple battery and considered armed and suicidal was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon following a search for him near La. 42 off South Satsuma Road, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lori Steele confirmed.

Frost School, which is located within a mile of the search area, was put on precautionary lockdown about 2:30 p.m. after the Sheriff’s Office notified school officials of the pursuit, Superintendent Bill Spear said.

The lockdown was lifted shortly before 3 p.m., Spear said.

The Sheriff’s Office did not disclose the identity of the suspect.
