LIVINGSTON — A 5-year-old girl died after being crushed by an elevator at a house on Oak Ridge Drive on Friday afternoon, according to a spokeswoman with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The child was at the house with her father, who was doing renovations, spokeswoman Lori Steele said.
The child, identified as Kaitlyn Lea, was airlifted to a Baton Rouge hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Steele said.
Steele said the elevator was located outside of the house and was not what the father was working on.
No other details were available Friday evening.
