EBR coroner receives more equipment

The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office recently received additional storage and cooling equipment, allowing the office to be better prepared for mass casualty events.
The expansion was made possible because of a grant received by Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary, EBR coroner Dr. Beau Clark said Friday.
The Louisiana Hospital Association, on behalf of the state Department of Health and Hospitals, administered and distributed $40,000 in grant funds to the medical center, Clark said.
The purchase increases the number of walk-in coolers at the Baton Rouge facility to three and bumps the storage capacity from 12 bodies to 40, Clark said.
