Police: Man wounded by gunfire Monday

Baton Rouge police are investigating a nonfatal shooting Monday afternoon on Harco Drive, a police spokesman said.

A man showed up at a hospital sometime after 5 p.m. and told the staff he had been shot in the hand and leg, Cpl. Tommy Stubbs said.

The victim told police he was shot somewhere in the 1100 block of Harco, Stubbs said.

The man’s injuries do not appear to be life threatening, Stubbs said.

Police are still developing motives and suspects in the shooting, he said.

Police investigate body found in pool

Baton Rouge police found a man dead Monday in the pool of a home in the 7000 block
of Victoria Gardens Court, police spokesman Lt. Don Kelly said.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of death, but there was no obvious evidence of foul play, Kelly said.
