The State Police helicopter flew over the Assumption Parish sinkhole near Bayou Corne on Tuesday morning.
The regular flyover schedule, according to the Assumption Parish blog on the sinkhole, remains on Mondays and Thursdays; however, Monday’s weather grounded the helicopter in Baton Rouge.

The sinkhole was discovered Aug. 3 near Bayou Corne. Residents of more than 150 homes in the vicinity of Bayou Corne remain under evacuation orders while work is underway to determine the cause.
