Ascension debris program nears end

GONZALES — The roadside debris removal program in Ascension Parish following Hurricane Isaac is nearly complete.

Parish officials are asking residents who have debris remaining on the roadside to contact Barbara LeBray with the Ascension Parish Department of Public Works at [phone] by 5 p.m. Tuesday. Those residents will be added to a list for final cleanup.

“The parish’s roadside debris pickup program is nearing the end, and we want to make sure everyone’s debris has been picked up,” Ascension Parish Chief Engineer Ben Laurie said in a news release.

The program has been in place for all Ascension Parish residents excluding those living in the city of Gonzales, or on state, federal or private roads.
