2 dead in apparent murder-suicide

A woman and her husband are dead following an apparent murder-suicide at their home near Covington late Friday, investigators said.

The bodies of Caroline Crockett Darby, 42, and Adrian Darby, 46, were discovered in their home, said Melanie Comeaux, executive director of St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Sean Beavers said deputies found the couple in a bedroom and that there were signs of foul play and “indications of a potential murder-suicide.”

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

The Darbys’ relationship had seen violence in the past. Caroline Darby successfully petitioned for a restraining order against her husband in February 2004, St. Tammany court records show. She alleged that he had previously threatened to kill her.

Adrian Darby later pleaded guilty to domestic abuse battery and was placed on probation for six months, records show.

@Hello Baton Rouge: No, I'm not new and not incapable of sensing saracasm (sic). In fact, I enjoy and employ sarcasm frequently. JimmieCee2's post expresses more than sarcasm and is both unwarranted and disproportionate to the initial post.
