Road, sewer forum set Monday at library

City-parish officials will host the last of a series of public forums to discuss road and sewer improvements at 6 p.m. Monday at the Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library.

Mayor-President Kip Holden, Chief Administrative Officer William Daniel and interim Public Works Director David Guillory will answer questions about either the Green Light Plan or East Baton Rouge Parish’s Sanitary Sewer Overflow project.

The officials will give progress on the two projects as well as be available to discuss individual projects.

“We are also looking for citizen input in the event we have issues that are unknown to us,” Daniel said.

“Program managers will have their complaint resolution people at the meeting as well.”

I think the issue is a $1.6 billion project that has increased just about every year, and with no real accountability for where all that money is going. Also why is that Central plant being eliminated and sewage is going to be pumped about 6 miles to the South plant? There needs to be an investigation into the entire project I think. OK everyone go back to sleep now and keep paying those 4 percent sewer fee increases that have no end in sight. Actually it will more than likely be your children that will still be paying this off.
