Top Lafayette teachers honored

LAFAYETTE — The Lafayette Parish School Board recognized the school system’s three teachers of the year Wednesday, chosen from the teachers honored in January by each school in the district.

The parish winners, who continued to the regional competition, are:

• District elementary school: Timothy Kovarik, of J.W. James Elementary.
• District middle school: Amy Moss, of Broussard Middle.
• District high school: Craig Wall, of Northside High.

Wall, a history teacher at Northside High, was recognized as the regional high school teacher of the year and competed in the state teacher of the year competition.
