Hurricane Isaac may be history, but it continues to have an impact on traffic in Baton Rouge.
Because of the heavy rains associated with the storm, construction on South Harrell’s Ferry Road and O’Neal Lane has been delayed, city-parish officials said in a news release.
The current phase of construction — the first of four at the intersection — was originally scheduled to be completed by Sept. 6, but will be delayed until Oct. 1, the news release says. Sheriff’s deputies will be present during peak traffic periods in the mornings and afternoons to help expedite traffic through the intersection, the release states.
City-parish officials are urging motorists to use recommended detour routes for the duration of the construction at the O’Neal Lane and South Harrel’s Ferry Road intersection.
An updated schedule of construction is available at the Green Light Plan website at www.brgov.com/greenlight.
