Hunting tax holiday this weekend
Consumers will pay no sales tax on purchases of firearms, ammunition and hunting supplies during the Louisiana Second Amendment Weekend Sales Tax Holiday, which begins Friday and ends Sunday.
During the three days, eligible purchases are exempt from the 4 percent state sales tax and all local sales taxes, the state Department of Revenue said.
The exemption applies to shotguns, rifles, pistols, revolvers or other handguns; related ammunition; and accessories, apparel and off-road vehicles, such as all-terrain vehicles, designed for use while hunting.
